Each team is made up of from 3 to 5 students with one person designated as the team lead. The team lead is responsible for the overall performance of the work of the team, coaches other team members, and makes the final decision on all matters requiring team input. Additionally, the team lead is responsible for putting together an activity plan (see sample plan) that identifies the major tasks to be performed by each team member.
The rest of the team is made up of people who have special competence or skills that complement the team. No team member is a subordinate of another team member, and no person reports to another on a line basis within the team setting. Team members should not allow their desire to maintain good relations with teammates to deter them from speaking the truth as they see it.
